EL Commons - The ExLibris Customer WIKI goes live

Ex Libris, the International Group of Ex Libris Users (IGeLU), and the Ex Libris Users of North America (ELUNA) are pleased to announce that the EL Commons collaborative Web site has been launched at http://www.exlibrisgroup.org and is accessible to all customers of Ex Libris products.

EL Commons consists of a customer wiki and a “Developer Zone.” The wiki, managed by IGeLU and ELUNA administrators, serves as an
information-sharing center for the community. The Developer
Zone hosts two main types of content: comprehensive documentation about the open interfaces-such as X-Services, Web services, and deep links-of Ex Libris products, and community contributions of code extensions.

What can I find on EL Commons, and what should I contribute?
The wiki is the perfect place for you to find and contribute
tips, hints, and how-to information related to specific Ex
Libris products.
The Cross Product section offers a place to share information
on more general issues.

The Developer Zone features documentation for the Ex Libris
open interfaces that you can download and use to create code
extensions for Ex Libris products. You can then contribute
such extensions to EL Commons for use by other members of the
community. And, of course, you are welcome to download code
that your colleagues have posted and use it in your library.

How do I access EL Commons?
To enter EL Commons (www.exlibrisgroup.org), use your
Documentation Center or SupportWeb user name and password.

If you plan to contribute to the wiki or access the Developer
Zone, create a personal account when you enter EL Commons for
the first time.
A password will be sent to the e-mail address that you provide.

Whom do I contact with questions?
Each product section of the wiki has two dedicated
administrators-one from IGeLU and one from ELUNA. Their
contact information is located at
http://www.exlibrisgroup.org/display/ThePod/contact+us.

For information related to the Ex Libris open-platform
program and the role of the Developer Zone, please contact
Tamar Sadeh, at tamar.sadeh@exlibrisgroup.com

For system support, please contact elcommons@exlibrisgroup.com
(here also login-questions)

We would like to invite all in the Ex Libris customer
community worldwide to log in to the EL Commons and begin to
contribute your code, ideas, and other content that you feel
would be worthwhile sharing with your colleagues!

Looking forward to seeing you on EL Commons,

Beate Rusch (IGeLU), Pascal Calarco (ELUNA), and Tamar Sadeh (Ex Libris)
