Voyager 9 voting now open

March 9, 2012
By

The IGeLU and ELUNA Voyager PWGs are pleased to announce that the enhancements election for Voyager 9.0 is now open.  Both Product Working Groups have built a ballot that represents numerous requests for all aspects of the Voyager system.   The number of options for election is extensive, and we strongly advise each member institution to review the ballot holistically and collaboratively.

Balloting will be done on the New Enhancement Request System (NERS) developed jointly by IGeLU and ELUNA, and located at https://ners.igelu.org.  You must already be a member of ELUNA or IGeLU in order to vote; your primary contact should have received a message containing the authentication credentials. If your institution or consortium needs to verify that it has received the account and password for NERS, the official contact or designee should contact ners {at} igelu(.)org.

Balloting will run until 23:59 GMT  March 30, 2012.  The final ballot contains 289 items, many of which are only eligible for inclusion in a major release. The ballot will also include items that have appeared on previous minor release ballots.

An Excel file containing the ballot options has been posted to the ELUNA document repository (http://documents.el-una.org/831/), and to the IGeLU archives (https://igelu.org/archives/2935).

When a member is ready to vote, log on to NERS at https://ners.igelu.org. Choose “Voyager” from the list of open elections. Each member institution or consortium will have a total of 100 points to distribute among enhancement choices as it sees fit, with a maximum of 10 points per any one item.  Once the balloting concludes, the Voyager Product Working Groups will compile the results and report the top ranked enhancement requests to Ex Libris.

Questions about the enhancements process may be directed to the Product Working Group Chairs, Ted Schwitzner (ELUNA) and Raymund Delahunty (IGeLU).

Thank you for your membership and your assistance in this important process.
