The BIBSYS Conference was held in Trondheim, Norway, on the 15th and 16th of March. 393 participants from the BIBSYS Consortia participated at the Conference, which is hosted by BIBSYS each year. This year the program was colored by the implementation of Alma for the libraries in the BIBSYS Consortium. Matti Shem-Tov, CEO Ex Libris, was one of the keynote speakers on the 15th, and he talked about product synergy strategy after joining with ProQuest, and of course about Alma and the BIBSYS Consortium. Also as a keynote speaker, Mike Berrington, Deputy University Librarian (Customer Services) at Nottingham Trent University (United Kingdom), gave a speech about coming trends in academic libraries, with a view from a UK university.
Miri Botzer, Product Manager for Primo in Ex Libris, held a session on the 16th, and talked about Searching, Exploring, Discovering – A New User Experience. BIBSYS Consortium has implemented Primo and the session gave a view of a rapidly changing landscape and Ux core principles for Web Design and what this means in the world of Discovery.
