We are very happy to announce that the 11th IGeLU conference in September 2016 will be hosted by BIBSYS and the University Library of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim, Norway.
BIBSYS
BIBSYS is the name of a Norwegian Library Systems Consortium as well as the organization administering the consortium. BIBSYS started out as a project in 1972, with the development of a library system based on a single, joint catalogue for those Academic and research libraries wanting to participate. Today the consortium has more than 100 institutions participating.
In 2012 BIBSYS contracted with ExLibris for Primo as a Discovery and Delivery tool for the Consortium (offered under the name of “Oria”), launched in summer of 2013. The same years we signed a contract for Alma. Alma is scheduled to be launched for the whole consortium by the end of 2015.
BIBSYS as an organization consists of approx 40 people, all of whom are located in Trondheim. In addition to the library system, BIBSYS provides an Open Institutional Archive (Brage) for Norwegian institutions as well as services related to research data management and open courseware.
