The Linked Data Special Interest Working Group has been busy!
• The LOD Working Body developed an extensive Linked Open Data Survey in order to gauge interest and involvement of Ex Libris customers with linked data projects or plans, and to identify linked data-related needs across the breadth of the community. Ex Libris product users can take the survey here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdXfL-K77yYMv-oYq_774hO1zhcPCR1HxmjJO4SCLzQCRgXHg/viewform The survey will remain open through March 31. A summary of the survey questions can be found here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1lK_oPcbgrI783U5ifzJahJD0nc68tk4qdX6Vp_eMsXo/edit?usp=sharing. After the survey is closed, we’ll analyze the results and share useful information with Ex Libris and customers.
• LOD SIWG sponsored a Show and Tell on January 18: Jack Ammerman from Boston University presented “Publishing Bibliographic Records from Alma to the Library Link Network”. More Linked Data-related Show and Tells, in the series sponsored by LOD, Interoperability and Analytics SIWGs, are in the works.
• If you’re coming to ELUNA 2017 in Schaumberg May 9-12, check out two linked-data-related presentations by Jack Ammerman and Amanda Xu. Ex Libris will also hold a Linked Data Collaboration meeting. We will also have a short business meeting and a presentation from Dana Sharvit of Ex Libris about linked data development plans, as part of the combined Linked Open Data, Analytics, Interoperability Special Interest Working Group Meetings on Wednesday afternoon. Check the ELUNA schedule for days and times. (Agenda and approximate times within the Working Group business meeting blocks will be available soon on our IGeLU site).
