Sinopia and BIBFRAME in Alma: A Linked Open Data Community Meeting
Ex Libris has established a focus group to help with the implementation of BIBFRAME in Alma. The focus group has been testing BIBFRAME using Sinopia, a cloud-based linked data editor, to create BIBFRAME descriptions and to send the BIBFRAME data to the Alma Sandbox environment.
The ELUNA/IGeLU Linked Open Data Community of Practice Working Group has invited two institutions that participate in the focus group to share their experiences with Sinopia and working with BIBFRAME data in the Alma Sandbox at our next community meeting on December 7, 2023, from 12-1 PM ET.
Please join us to learn about the following topics:
- Ex Libris Linked Data Roadmap
- Brief Overview of BIBFRAME and Sinopia
- Case studies
- University of Pennsylvania: Will give an overview on efforts to normalize BIBFRAME from Sinopia to Alma, their exploration in including holdings and what they are thinking about for exporting to discovery and other systems.
- University of California Davis: Will demonstrate how they locally handle recording relationships between preceding and succeeding titles by using templates created by PCC Metadata Application Profiles Working Group.
