Enhancements timeline 2024

The RapidILL enhancements voting cycle follows a structured timeline to ensure a transparent and organized process:

📅 July 1st: Last chance to submit new enhancement requests for the current year’s voting cycle. This is the deadline for submitting any new ideas or suggestions for improving RapidILL.

📝 July 2nd – July 26th: The Enhancements Team takes over and conducts a thorough review process. They deduplicate any overlapping requests, scope the enhancements, verify their feasibility, and transfer ideas to the appropriate categories if necessary. Finally, they set up the voting platform for the first round.

📮 July 29th – July 30th: The first round of voting commences. During this period, RapidILL users can review and cast their votes for the enhancements they deem most important.

🔍 September 2nd – September 6th: After the first round of voting concludes, the Enhancements Team analyzes the results, organizes the top-voted enhancements, and prepares them for Ex Libris to assign complexity points.

📅 September 7th – September 13th: A break is taken for the IGeLU 2024 Conference, allowing attendees to focus on the event and its exciting activities.

🧩 September 16th – September 27th: Ex Libris reviews the top-voted enhancements and assigns complexity points to each one, providing an estimate of the effort required for implementation.

🤔 September 30th – October 9th: An additional period is allocated for clarification and discussion between the Enhancements Team and Ex Libris, ensuring a clear understanding of the enhancements and their complexity points.

📮 October 10th – October 31st: The second and final round of voting takes place. Armed with the complexity points assigned by Ex Libris, RapidILL users can cast their votes, taking into account the effort required for each enhancement.

This structured timeline ensures a fair and inclusive process, allowing ample time for review, discussion, and user input throughout the RapidILL enhancements voting cycle.
