Activities
The LOD SIWG has been hosting discussions with Ex Libris about scenarios for using Linked Data with Ex Libris applications.
On July 11, 2013, Lukas Koster presented on resolving harvested URIs into Primo PNX.
On September 30, 2013 North Rhine-Westphalian Library Service Center (hbz) described their process and challenges encountered in publishing Aleph bibliographic data as RDF, and Sébastien Nadeau of Université Laval discussed preliminary efforts to publish Aleph-based authorities.
On Nov. 12, 2013, Ex Libris’ Shlomo Sanders presented on mapping Primo PNX records to RDF to provide linked data views of Primo and Primo Central resources.
Focus groups
Following the PNX-to-RDF discussion, Emory University, New York University, and the University of Amsterdam have been participating in focus groups with Ex Libris to further refine the RDF mapping and functionality.
This progress is clear evidence of the SIWG’s influence on the development of Ex Libris systems.
Bylaws
The group has also recently finalized its bylaws, which are available here and is currently planning programming for ELUNA 2014, to be held April 29 – May 2 in Montréal, Quebec, Canada.
