The Linked Open Data Working Group sponsored a very interesting Show & Tell on July 10, Harvard LD4P/LD4L Labs with Marc McGee and Christine Eslao, Harvard University, talking about work with BIBFRAME and special formats. We are planning another Show & Tell August 29 at 10 a.m. EST with Nancy Lorimer from Stanford and Xiaoli Li from University of California Davis, talking about BIBFRAME experience from a cataloging perspective.
The Working Body continues to update our Dashboard for Linked Data Development in Ex Libris Products, released and announced for the future, which coordinates information about features in Alma and Primo (and anticipated, Summon), plus additional information and plugin documentation found on the Developers Network. Ex Libris released a new Primo feature in May, “Making Library Catalog Visible on the Web”, utilizing Primo Sitemap and structured data markup including schema.org to raise accessibility of Primo records to search engines, and the Working Group is in contact with test sites that are evaluating the feature and will share more information when it is available
We are interested in hearing from customers about their projects and plans for use of linked data. Contact Coordinator Laura Akerman, liblna@emory.edu if you have something to share. We can also add you to the BaseCamp we provide for information sharing with Ex Libris on developing features, if you are interested in testing or providing technical feedback. And join our mailing list, https://exlibrisusers.org/listinfo/lod where we provide announcements and news from the Working Group and in the larger library linked data community.
We will likely have some Working Body changes toward the end of the year. If you are at an IGeLU institution and are interested in serving on the LOD Working Body, please contact Coordinator Laura Akerman, liblna@emory.edu.
