The Linked Open Data Special Interest Working Group has been working a fair amount behind the scenes since IGeLU 2015 in Budapest. Throughout the past year, much of our work been in collaboration with the Interoperability SIWG and the nascent Analytics SIWG. Our 3 groups organized the first in a series of “Show and Tell” Google Hangouts on Air Sessions, a presentation from Karsten Kryger Hansen on Enriching Primo records on the fly with WordPress.
These stream live on Google Hangouts and are automatically recorded to YouTube for later viewing. Check the “Show and Tell” YouTube Channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOhvElSg7kLZDyFdA-NQe6w) for this and future recordings, and if you have an interest in giving either a full presentation or a lightning talk as part of a future Show and Tell, please reach out to one of the SIWG Coordinators.
Additionally, members of the LOD SIWG have been serving on the planning committee for ELUNA’s first Developers Day, to be held on May 3, 2016. We’re looking forward to a jam-packed and exciting program of talks by developers in the Ex Libris Community. A wide range of topics will be covered, from interoperability to UI customization to analytics. For more information, please see: http://el-una.org/meetings/eluna-2016/developersday/
Finally, many members of the LOD SIWG have been participating in Ex Libris’ “Linked Data Collaboration Program”. This effort just kicked off in January, and includes a number of tracks covering topics such as “Linked Data in Discovery”, “RDF Publishing” (in Alma), and “Alma Technical Services (Cataloging)”. This work will be featured in presentations at SIWG meetings at both ELUNA and IGeLU 2016.
