Elections & Voting
Elections for membership of the Steering Committee take place at the annual conference, during the Assembly of Members. All IGeLU members are eligible to vote (one vote per institution).
The position of Chair is held for three years, and ordinary Steering Committee members have a two year term, but not all members are elected in one year. Note that the role of Treasurer is not elected, but is an ex officio member of the Steering Committee.
The schedule of upcoming elections for membership of the Steering Committee is as follows:
- 2011: 2 ordinary members
- 2012: 3 ordinary members and the Chair
- 2013: 2 ordinary members
- 2014: 3 ordinary members
- 2015: 2 ordinary members and the Chair
Proxy votes
If an institution is unable to send a representative to the Assembly of Members they can assign a proxy vote to another institution, who can then vote on their behalf. To register a proxy vote please use the proxy vote engine.
