Collecting use cases

The joint EGeLU/ELUNA Linked Open Data SIWG continues to collect use cases and present them to Ex Libris on WebEx conference calls.

  • On February 26, 2014, Roxana Popistasu of the National Library of Luxembourg presented on linking between author data in Primo/Aleph and Autorenlexikon, an encyclopedia of Luxembourgish literary authors.
  • On March 18, 2014, Konstantin Baierer, a Software Contractor for Ex Libris presented on Ex Libris’ role in developing Omnom & Pubby, two components of the Digitized Manuscripts to Europeana (DM2E) Interoperability Infrastructure.
  • On July 28, 2014, the group heard lighting talks from Shlomo Sanders, Corey Harper, and Laura Akerman on various topics.

Notes from all Use Case calls are available to Ex Libris Customers on the EL Commons Wiki

LOD in Primo

Additionally, the SIWG’s focus group activity helps shape Linked Data features under development in Primo. A demo version of some of these features, being considered for inclusion in an upcoming Primo release, and other Ex Libris developments related to Linked Data may be announced at the SIWG meeting at IGeLU 2014.

Your are invited to contribute

We are continuing to look for additional use cases to present to Ex Libris, as well as for other ways we can provide input on linked data feature development. If you are potentially interested in presenting a brief use case via WebEx or have other ideas, questions, or concerns, please contact Corey Harper at corey.harper@nyu.edu or reach out to any other member of the group’s working body
