ANZREG virtual IGeLU conference wrap-up session
ANZREG (Australia New Zealand Regional Ex Libris Group) hosted a virtual IGeLU conference wrap-up session on November 1st, 2024.
RapidILL Working Group member and Conference Planner, Karen O’Donoghue from La Trobe University, Victoria, Australia, presented her experiences of being a virtual IGeLU 2024 conference attendee, focusing on the importance of her working group participation. Her presentation emphasized how joining working groups like RapidILL can enhance engagement with the IGeLU conference for both in-person and virtual attendees.
The session was part of ANZREG’s annual wrap-up webinar, which reviewed key takeaways from the 2024 IGeLU conference and looked ahead to future developments. This regional event helped connect the Australia-New Zealand Ex Libris community with the broader international IGeLU initiatives and working groups.
RapidILL Working Group Open Meeting, IGeLU 2024, Copenhagen
A 30-minute open meeting session about RapidILL from the IGeLU 2024 conference in Copenhagen. The session took place on September 9th at 3:45 PM, and provided updates on RapidILL Working Group activities, with the opportunity for those present to ask questions. The presenter was Working Group Coordinator, Kip A. Darling from Birmingham City University, UK, and the session was moderated by Giulia La Versa from the University of Siena, Italy.
It was part of the broader IGeLU (International Group of Ex Libris Users) 2024 conference, whose theme was “Beyond Limits and Differences: Data, Hidden Treasures and Mermaids…”

FIL (Forum for Interlending) is a UK based organization focused on improving library services through interlibrary loans and document sharing. It serves as a discussion platform for best practices in this field, works to develop better standards, and promotes cooperation between libraries both nationally and internationally. Its main purpose is to help libraries work together more effectively to share resources and documents.
The presentation was a 15-minute Lightning Talk about the work of the IGeLU RapidILL Working Group, presented by Coordinator, Kip A. Darling. The event was not recorded, however you can view the slides below.
Also presenting at this event was fellow Working Group member and library systems expert, Bronwen Blatchford, representing the library consortium WHELF and her home institution, Cardiff University, UK. Bronwen presented on experiences of sister system, Rapido.
