Geolocation of resources on an interactive library map
Presenter
- Maaike Vautier, Bibliothèque cantonale et universitaire de Lausanne
Despite the many signs in our library, users sometimes have trouble finding the resources they’re looking for. The step between the information found in the catalog (Primo) and the physical location of the item is often hard to take. To overcome this difficulty, we embarked on the development of an interactive map that geolocates the resources. The map has been easily integrated into Primo, so that the user can access it directly from the search results and is being pointed to the right shelves. But physical resources are only a small part of what the library has to offer. The next step of our project is to use the interactive map to point out online resources related to physical sections in the library.

Consortia licenses, Open Access, and clean-up in the NZ
Presenter
- Dominik Bláha, SLSP (Swiss Library Service Platform)
See how SLSP manages licenses in the Network Zone, including the license terms. We made the process comfy for our licensing colleagues. But that is not all! We are proactive in the field of Open Access and have a community-driven workflow to manage OA e-collections in NZ for all SLSP member IZs. We’ll tell you all about it. But wait, there is still more! The NZ is getting clogged with deactivated CZ records! Of course, we have a workflow for that. Come and have a look!
Consortial Migration of Primo VE Normalization Rules
Presenter
- Junghae Lee, University of Washington Libraries
The Orbis Cascade Alliance migrated from Primo BO to Primo VE in June 2022. During the migration planning period, the Normalization Rules Standing Group (NRSG) of the Alliance re-implemented over 70 normalization rules for display, search, and facets in Primo VE to best resemble the existing Primo BO discovery interface. This presentation will cover workflows developed to create normalization rules, challenges, and lessons learned while migrating these normalization rules. The extent to which display and facet normalization rules are being utilized by member institutions, steps for promoting their usage, and post-migration improvement based on feedback will also be discussed.
